Happy Halloween!

What a rock star! Baby J's first Halloween was spent at home charming everyone! Grandma, Grandpa cousing Lino and Emiliano and Auntie Alycia, Goerge and Auntie Erica and Uncle David all came over to see this cutie pie, eat pizza and hang out on the porch passing out candy. Trick or treating was light this year, but we still ran out of candy and were trying to pass out soda. hahah so lame! Rock star baby was awesome! He had so much fun and oh what a cutie! I'm happy his costume turned out so well. I had some sewing machine issues, but between wonder under, and hot glue lol, it worked. Everything is so much more fun with baby- we are so blessed to have to have this little guy.

Da Beach!

I love my life! Why? Because on any random Wednesday I get to do things like take the cutest rock star baby to the beach! It was crankin' hot again today, so me and the rock star headed to the beach for some fun. He's only been to the beach once before and he just stayed in the becco carrier. Today I took him out in the water in the Becco. We went out to about my waist, which was deep enough to skim his toes once in a while! I would have gone out farther, but that water was ice cold. Okay for me, you get used to it, but not for baby. When we came in, I made him a sand chair and let him have at it! He loved the sand. He kept picking up handfuls of it and letting it slide through his fingers. Such a boy. I tried to bury his legs, but he kept kicking the sand off. We only stayed about an hour and a half, because I was paranoid about sunburn. ( I used the 50 sunscreen and applied it twice :) We both had a fun day.

I Like to Eat Eat Eat Apples and Bananas...

Oh yes we like bananas with our cereal and now....apple slices! Okay so he didn't actually eat it as much as gum it to death and drool all over it but still. It was his first "real" food :) It lasted about 6 minutes before he chucked it across the room and laughed.

Visit with Granny

A few weeks ago we drove up to visit my granny. It was baby J's first time at Granny's. We brought the pack n play form my office because it's smaller and he did great. He had such a great time playing with his Granny. I'm putting this picture in his room because it's so precious.

Thunderboats!

Every year my Dad runs the startline committe for the Thunderboat races. For as long as I can remember we have camped on the beach for 3 days and watched the boat races, and the craziness of parties and whatnot when the sun goes down! It's the only time you can stay overnight on fiesta island so it's cool. Anyways, I haven t been in a few years, so this year me and the boy cruised on down of Sat. afternoon. I had forgotten how much fun it was :) J had so much fun looking around-- he loves the water, we are definately going to have a baby fishie on our hands :) What a supermodel this kid is!!!!

Carrier update

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted, Being the new DRE at church has kept me busy! Well we got the Becco butterfly carrier from tendergargo.com and it's great! Jamie likes it and it's really comfortable for me. Took some practice to get it on and adjusted right but it's great now. I keep it in the car so it's always ready, since I can't carry his carseat anymore--too heavy.

First Boat Ride!

Today we went with the cousins on the ferry boat. We had lunch in the park first. Baby boy slept for most of the ride, but liked the wind on the way back. Alycia and I learned that spray sunscreen is WAY better than the stick, as both our arms now have red and white stripes! Irish skin people: not made for sun LOL. After messing with the impossible to tie properly Moby wrap, the minute I got home I went and ordered a new carrier! Moby was great when he was smaller, but now he hates being so tight, and prefers facing out. Sis is in the parking lot trying to help me tie this thing for like 10 min. then she pops Baby E in her bjorn and off we go, she's mobile and I'm spending the whole time fidgeting and re adjusting. Grrrr hence the new carrier from "cousin" Krissy. Will review when it arrives. Depsite carrier issues, we had a great day.

Family Dinner

Aww it was so nice! Tonight we ate dinner as a family! Thanks to this handy gadget : http://www.highchairs.com/Chicco-Caddy-Hook-On.pro I had been looking at Highchairs and was wondering where in the world we were supposed to put one in our little nook. Then I saw this. I had actually seen this in use once at Applebees. I thought it would fit nicely with the kitchen decor and work on our table. So we went and got it today. It was really easy to install, no guy needed :) and it's pretty cool. Our little peanut needs a thick blanket in the bottom b/c he's so tiny, but that's just temporary. So now we eat at the table like a normal family Yay!

Baby Fishie!

Today we went swimming for the first time! We went to Grandma's pool. He loved it! At first was a little scared, but after a few minutes, was kicking and splashing with his hands. It was a great first time, can't wait to go again.

Bad Hair Day???

I got tired of people saying Oh what a cute girl, so today: HAIRCUT!!!!! Check out the before and after Pic's. Hahah what a baby rockstar!!!!!

I'm a big boy...

Awww this boy is so much fun! He's getting so big. He's now 5 months and one week. Weighs 14 lbs and is 24 inches long. He reaches and grabs for toys, and chews on them. He's making all kinds of sounds and noises, and they are getting louder and louder.Yesterday he had everyone in Target stopping to listen to him. He's sleeping more during the night now too ( good boy!) he goes to bed at 8:30 pm, wakes up at 1:30 to eat then will sleep until 7 or 8. Pretty soon he won't wake up at all right? umm yeah don't tell me if the answer's no :) He loves coming to work with me, and smiles and charms everyone. Now that we have a pack and play in my office, he can take good naps and not get cranky. He stands up a lot, he's super strong. He's up to 6-7 oz every 3.5-4hours and eating rice cereal about once a day. Next month will start on foods!!! Guess I'll have to suck it up and get a high chair then.. still don't want to tho, no room! His swing is good for now, or the bouncie seat. Our deadline of getting the floors done before he crawls is rapidly approaching.

Last weekend was our Steubenville youth group convention so Daddy was on full time duty. I was supposed to stay in the dorms at usd with the kids but as bad timing would have it I had the stomach flu as well, so I came home at night. It was the longest I had ever been away from him. He survived very well with Daddy and got major grandma spoilage! But I'll let Hank tell you about that. The convention itself was awesome, over 5,000 high school students, attending Mass, Adoration, talks, and generally getting our Jesus on!!! The scope of this event is amazing, just imagine housing and feeding that lot! It all goes off without a hitch, and the kids are forever changed by the experience. For me the most challenging was to guard what you see during the day, and the story they told about the frog. If you put a frog in a pot of boiling water, he will jump out immediately. Yet, if you put the same frog in a pot of warm water and gradually turn up the heat, he won't notice until he is boiled and it's too late. Very poignant in regards to the media, the music we listen to, shows and movies we watch...

Baptism

J was Baptised today. It was wonderful, we'd dreamed about this day for so long and it was even better than we imagined. To have all our family and friends in one place was pretty special, and to have everyone at Church where we spend so much of our lives was great. Jamie wore the family gown, worn by his niece and nephew too. He had a white and satin little tux to wear after...he was so cute. The jacket didn't last long however, it was too hot! Which is also why mommy couldn't straighten her hair...too hot too humid. When Father Mike poured the water on him, he actually smiled--he liked it! We all had brunch at El Torrito's after, and I gave everyone the favors I made: remembrance cards with his name, date, godparents and a picture of him on the back. Then I hand made chaplet rosaries as well. Most of the pictures were blurry so I'll post more when I get them from others :)

First Fireworks!

Baby J's first Fourth of July was great. We had a BBQ at His "auntie" Jhona's house and played Rock Band. He loved watching the TV...it's fun to see him so interested in music already, as well as the shapes and colors..but sheesh tv at 4 months??? Well I suppose if you choose the content it's okay, and watch video's or tivo stuff so you don't have to watch commercials. Anyway I digress from celebrating America, we went to USD to watch Fireworks and you could see at least 6 of them, it was great. The only time babyJ got scared was when everyone yelled at a big cool one and we thnk it's because Daddy yelled too. Also the fact that he was super tired might of had something to do with that. But he slept from 12- 6 last night heh. Good Boy :) I should mention that we left our camera at Aunt Kim's so...yeah, and we forgot to take phone pics.

This is how I lean

Today was the first day at my new job at church. J did very well, he charmed everyone in the office, including father Micheal and then he played in the stroller. We were able to come home for lunch and to take a nap and then we will go back later at 5. The flexible hours thing is going to come in very handy. This picture I have entitled" Lean like a Cholo" ha!

The baby rolls

Yep! baby J can roll from back to stomach, and from stomach to back! He's also liking tummy time more, and can hold his head up and push himself up. He's getting so big, I can't believe it's been 4 months already. He is such a happy boy! We went to his 1st baseball game..thanks uncle Steve for the tickets! Baby J enjoys watching baseball on tv with daddy, and he did very well at the game. Some of the yelling fans scared him a little, but he loved all the attention and the people telling him how cute he was. God bless the Moby Wrap because we had to park really far away.
