I'm a big boy...

Awww this boy is so much fun! He's getting so big. He's now 5 months and one week. Weighs 14 lbs and is 24 inches long. He reaches and grabs for toys, and chews on them. He's making all kinds of sounds and noises, and they are getting louder and louder.Yesterday he had everyone in Target stopping to listen to him. He's sleeping more during the night now too ( good boy!) he goes to bed at 8:30 pm, wakes up at 1:30 to eat then will sleep until 7 or 8. Pretty soon he won't wake up at all right? umm yeah don't tell me if the answer's no :) He loves coming to work with me, and smiles and charms everyone. Now that we have a pack and play in my office, he can take good naps and not get cranky. He stands up a lot, he's super strong. He's up to 6-7 oz every 3.5-4hours and eating rice cereal about once a day. Next month will start on foods!!! Guess I'll have to suck it up and get a high chair then.. still don't want to tho, no room! His swing is good for now, or the bouncie seat. Our deadline of getting the floors done before he crawls is rapidly approaching.

Last weekend was our Steubenville youth group convention so Daddy was on full time duty. I was supposed to stay in the dorms at usd with the kids but as bad timing would have it I had the stomach flu as well, so I came home at night. It was the longest I had ever been away from him. He survived very well with Daddy and got major grandma spoilage! But I'll let Hank tell you about that. The convention itself was awesome, over 5,000 high school students, attending Mass, Adoration, talks, and generally getting our Jesus on!!! The scope of this event is amazing, just imagine housing and feeding that lot! It all goes off without a hitch, and the kids are forever changed by the experience. For me the most challenging was to guard what you see during the day, and the story they told about the frog. If you put a frog in a pot of boiling water, he will jump out immediately. Yet, if you put the same frog in a pot of warm water and gradually turn up the heat, he won't notice until he is boiled and it's too late. Very poignant in regards to the media, the music we listen to, shows and movies we watch...
