Thunderboats!

Every year my Dad runs the startline committe for the Thunderboat races. For as long as I can remember we have camped on the beach for 3 days and watched the boat races, and the craziness of parties and whatnot when the sun goes down! It's the only time you can stay overnight on fiesta island so it's cool. Anyways, I haven t been in a few years, so this year me and the boy cruised on down of Sat. afternoon. I had forgotten how much fun it was :) J had so much fun looking around-- he loves the water, we are definately going to have a baby fishie on our hands :) What a supermodel this kid is!!!!

Carrier update

Sorry it's been so long since I last posted, Being the new DRE at church has kept me busy! Well we got the Becco butterfly carrier from tendergargo.com and it's great! Jamie likes it and it's really comfortable for me. Took some practice to get it on and adjusted right but it's great now. I keep it in the car so it's always ready, since I can't carry his carseat anymore--too heavy.

First Boat Ride!

Today we went with the cousins on the ferry boat. We had lunch in the park first. Baby boy slept for most of the ride, but liked the wind on the way back. Alycia and I learned that spray sunscreen is WAY better than the stick, as both our arms now have red and white stripes! Irish skin people: not made for sun LOL. After messing with the impossible to tie properly Moby wrap, the minute I got home I went and ordered a new carrier! Moby was great when he was smaller, but now he hates being so tight, and prefers facing out. Sis is in the parking lot trying to help me tie this thing for like 10 min. then she pops Baby E in her bjorn and off we go, she's mobile and I'm spending the whole time fidgeting and re adjusting. Grrrr hence the new carrier from "cousin" Krissy. Will review when it arrives. Depsite carrier issues, we had a great day.

Family Dinner

Aww it was so nice! Tonight we ate dinner as a family! Thanks to this handy gadget : http://www.highchairs.com/Chicco-Caddy-Hook-On.pro I had been looking at Highchairs and was wondering where in the world we were supposed to put one in our little nook. Then I saw this. I had actually seen this in use once at Applebees. I thought it would fit nicely with the kitchen decor and work on our table. So we went and got it today. It was really easy to install, no guy needed :) and it's pretty cool. Our little peanut needs a thick blanket in the bottom b/c he's so tiny, but that's just temporary. So now we eat at the table like a normal family Yay!

Baby Fishie!

Today we went swimming for the first time! We went to Grandma's pool. He loved it! At first was a little scared, but after a few minutes, was kicking and splashing with his hands. It was a great first time, can't wait to go again.

Bad Hair Day???

I got tired of people saying Oh what a cute girl, so today: HAIRCUT!!!!! Check out the before and after Pic's. Hahah what a baby rockstar!!!!!

I'm a big boy...

Awww this boy is so much fun! He's getting so big. He's now 5 months and one week. Weighs 14 lbs and is 24 inches long. He reaches and grabs for toys, and chews on them. He's making all kinds of sounds and noises, and they are getting louder and louder.Yesterday he had everyone in Target stopping to listen to him. He's sleeping more during the night now too ( good boy!) he goes to bed at 8:30 pm, wakes up at 1:30 to eat then will sleep until 7 or 8. Pretty soon he won't wake up at all right? umm yeah don't tell me if the answer's no :) He loves coming to work with me, and smiles and charms everyone. Now that we have a pack and play in my office, he can take good naps and not get cranky. He stands up a lot, he's super strong. He's up to 6-7 oz every 3.5-4hours and eating rice cereal about once a day. Next month will start on foods!!! Guess I'll have to suck it up and get a high chair then.. still don't want to tho, no room! His swing is good for now, or the bouncie seat. Our deadline of getting the floors done before he crawls is rapidly approaching.

Last weekend was our Steubenville youth group convention so Daddy was on full time duty. I was supposed to stay in the dorms at usd with the kids but as bad timing would have it I had the stomach flu as well, so I came home at night. It was the longest I had ever been away from him. He survived very well with Daddy and got major grandma spoilage! But I'll let Hank tell you about that. The convention itself was awesome, over 5,000 high school students, attending Mass, Adoration, talks, and generally getting our Jesus on!!! The scope of this event is amazing, just imagine housing and feeding that lot! It all goes off without a hitch, and the kids are forever changed by the experience. For me the most challenging was to guard what you see during the day, and the story they told about the frog. If you put a frog in a pot of boiling water, he will jump out immediately. Yet, if you put the same frog in a pot of warm water and gradually turn up the heat, he won't notice until he is boiled and it's too late. Very poignant in regards to the media, the music we listen to, shows and movies we watch...
